SYNOPSIS

BWR_14.JPG

BLACK.WHITE.RED.

Is a film opera in the guise of an expedition into madness. The visionary trip of the main character Chemkar into hell is operatic. The enigmatic Eris, who embodies the devil, is operatic. The autistic and ingenious mad conductor Serge is operatic. The central theme is a new drug whose origin and material are unknown and which, after ingestion of a substance, activates memories in the brain via a mobile phone signal. Via this signal, people are manipulated and robbed of their memories. This content is more valuable than anything comparable in this world.

At the centre is the idea of God. It captures people's hopeless but admirable striving for something they can never achieve. From this follows a sense of sadness, the passing of time, the loneliness of worlds and finally death.

MAIN CHARACTERS

Black White Red Chemkar Malik Blumenthal.JPG

MALIK BLUMENTHAL AKA CHEMKAR

Black White Red is the conscious experience of one's own death in the form of club owner and drug lord Chemkar, who wants to die but is not allowed to die because he has found his love but is not allowed to love.

Chemkar is the deceptive Jesus of today, his fellow club owners and drug customers are his disciples.

Chemkar embodies the unconscious knowledge that the end of humanity is near.

His hopeless desire for love only drives him deeper into addiction to power, money, restraint and licentiousness.

Thus Chemkar symbolizes the inevitable self-destruction of man.

No love, no life, no world.

Death is no salvation, no goal, only nothingness.

This eschatological in Black White Red tragically fits perfectly into our time.

Black White Red Eris Alyona Konstantinova.JPG

ALYONA KONSTANTINOVA AKA ERIS

Eris is the devil whose seductive arts Chemkar cannot resist out of curiosity and who drives him into abysmal sexual excesses that break him.

Eris appears suddenly in Chemkar’sl ife and has a passion for fire, power, truth and chaos.

Eris is what Chemkar needs the most but isn’t allowing himself to be. She is the intuition he needs to see. If he is the sun then she is his moon.

Eris, called after the ancient goddess of chaos, represents the divine feminine side, long shut, of Chemkar.

Eris is the catalyst who brings the sacred chaos to destroy what needs destruction in his life, by that she makes space for his unsaid desires and dreams.

Eris comes in as a guide with sensuality, beauty and force to restore the balance between the two divine forces they embody.

Eris represents the mystery, the unknown, the darkness, the void.

Eris is out of this world, in fact she is an immaterial being.

Only in Chemkar’s soul, heart, body, mind and world Eris is real.

DISCLAIMER:

BLACK.WHITE.RED. is an exclusive production of the Swiss company Basel Dream & Vision AG, based in Basel. Original locations in Berlin, St. Petersburg, Kiev and Marseille were originally planned for the filming of BLACK.WHITE.RED. Due to the strict coronavirus restrictions in Germany and France, filming began in St. Petersburg in January 2022. Like many others, the entire film crew on location was surprised by the ensuing political crisis. Although Basel Dream & Vision AG believes that cultural bridges are more important than ever in these times, it was unfortunately no longer possible to bring the film's predominantly Russian crew to Kiev, Berlin and Marseille due to the prevailing political upheavals. As a result, filming was restricted to St. Petersburg, where it was completed as quickly as possible under the most difficult conditions.
